Sudden Lunge Single target Knockback damage and Stun effect
Special Notes on Monster and it's TP Moves

None of the Ladybug moves are a real problem. They are at best annoyances.

Ladybugs aggro by sight and are not linking.

During daylight hours Ladybugs receive an Evasion Boost, and only in the day will they use their more aggressive TP moves Nepenthean Hum, and Noisome Powder and Spiral Spin. They do not aggro at night.

It seems that when Ladybugs use Sudden Lunge they loose a small amount of HP. This can cause them to die a bit faster then one would like when spell farming.

Obtaining the Spell
Minimum Blue Mage Level Needed To Acquire Spell: Level 54.
Spiral Spin is best hunted in East Ronfaure [S].

This spell can be easily soloed at Camp #1 at the point you can learn it.

Nothing special is is needed for hunting the spell.

Ladybug Hunting Grounds Camp #1
Name Level Location
Ladybug 44-47 East Ronfaure [S]

There are close to four dozen Ladybug spawns in East Ronfaure [S], mostly in a huge clump in the southern part of the zone. The map above shows the general areas they can be found circled in red. There are no shortage of them to learn from! There is aggro possible from the occasional goblin and orc, but it should not be a concern. Ladybugs will aggro by sight if you are of low enough level. They do not link. Pull a Ladybug, feed it TP, see the spell, kill the bug, and get your spell!

Ladybug Hunting Grounds Camp #2
Name Level Location
Biddybug 62-64 Jugner Forest [S]

Biddybugs, the Ladybugs stronger version, can be found in Jugner Forest [S] as marked on the map above. As they are of higher level then the Ladybugs in East Ronfaure [S], they are not recommended for spell farming since Camp #1 offers much simpler options. But, if you wish to learn from them, you can.

Special notes about the spell a Blue Mage may like to know
Can I solo it? Yes. In your low to upper 40's you can, no problems.
Do I need any special items? No.
Do Ladybugs like to use the move? With only four TP moves to choose from, they use it often.
The spell deals physical Slashing type damage.
Spiral Spin can be paired with Mandibular Bite or Power Attack to create the Plantoid Killer Trait.
