Special Notes on Monster and it's TP Moves

Peiste have a number of very annoying TP moves to deal with.

Grim Glower is the worst move that the non NM Peiste's deal. When the move is used, the monsters eyes will glow red. As long as they are glowing, if you face the Peiste's front (the Gaze cone) you will become Petrified. It is safe to attack from the rear of the mob if the move is active, but if you take hate, and it turns to face you, you will be petrified also. The period that the move is active is several seconds.

Topefying Charge is also a problem. Unlike Grim Glower, it is only a single cast move and does not have a long 'active' infliction time. But having yourself or your tank Paralyzed is never good.

The Three Hit Delta Thrust can hurt. The Plague that it inflicts is potent.

Peiste aggro by sight, but do not link.

Obtaining the Spell
Minimum Blue Mage Level Needed To Acquire Spell: Level 60 with Magus Jubbah equipped, 63 without.
Regurgitation is best hunted in Grauberg [S].

This spell can be soloed at Camp #1 with some care, a small party makes it much simpler.

Bringing a dedicated WHM is recommended when hunting the spell for maximum safety.

Peiste Hunting Grounds Camp #1
Name Level Location
Peiste 69-72?? Grauberg [S]

There are around fifteen Peiste spawns in the north most part of Grauberg [S] near the zone to Pashhow Marshlands [S] at J-5/6. The map above shows them marked with red dots. There is aggro possible from the occasional Goblin and Quadav near camp, but it should not be a concern. Peiste will aggro by sight, but do not link. This is the best camp due to the level of the Peiste, lack of aggro, and a nice camp location.

The best camp is right in the little canyon leading up to the Pashhow Marshlands [S] zoneline at J-4, here you can pull your target to and fight with no worry of other aggro.

The Peiste here con as EP to DC to a level 75, so the level range is high 60's to low 70's. If you plan to try and solo, take that into account.

For your fights you need to be very careful of the Paralyze and Petrifaction moves. Both can turn a solo fight against one easily. Have a Remedy or /WHM for Topefying Charge, and fighting with your back to the Mob, and using low MP cost spells to feed TP, protects you from the Petrifaction move.

A small party can make this spell a lot simpler to farm. A White Mage is a huge help for Stona. A High 60's BLU with a WHM support for status effects and cures should have no issues with the mobs here.

Peiste Hunting Grounds Camp #2
Name Level Location
Peiste 72-75?? Pashhow Marshlands [S]
Virulent Peiste 79-82?? Pashhow Marshlands [S]

Peiste, and Virulent Peiste, can both be found in the southern part of Pashhow Marshlands [S]. The twenty or so normal Peiste are marked with red dots, and the twelve Virulent Peiste, located at E-10 are circled. As all the targets here are of higher level then the Peiste in Grauberg [S], (with the Virulent Peiste VT to a level 75) and there is a lot of other aggro from Quadav and Goblins where they spawn. So this camp is not recommended for the easiest or safest spell farming.

Special notes about the spell a Blue Mage may like to know
Can I solo it? Yes. In your 70's you can with some risk. A duo with a WHM will make things much safer.
Do I need any special items? A WHM, or /WHM will help.
Do Peiste like to use the move? They have several moves so it can take a bit to see.
The Damge delt by this spell seems to come from two different formulas, testing continues to learn what makes it work best.
Regurgitation can be paired with Feather Barrier to create the Resist Gravity Trait.
