Obtaining the Spell
Minimum Blue Mage Level Needed To Acquire Spell: Level 8.
Cursed Sphere is best hunted in Pashhow Marshlands.

This spell can be soloed with care around level 20.

Bring Antidotes to cure Venom's Poison. A way to sneak can help you get to camp.

Fly Hunting Grounds Camp #1
Name Level Location
Gadfly 18-21 Pashhow Marshlands

At level 18, when you can use this spell, you can solo it with some risk in Pashhow Marshlands. You will have no trouble with EM Flys. Tough ones can be dangerous. So waiting a level or two will make it much simpler. Zone into the Marsh from the Highlands, and in the area marked with a red circle above, you will find a few Gadfly spawns. They can link so take care when you pull them.

In this area of the marsh there can be wandering Quadav, Goobbue, and Malboro, all will aggro to sound. Keep an eye out for all of them, so you don't get jumped while fighting a Fly.

Grab a Gadfly and pull it to a safe camp, where you will not have to worry about other aggro, and Bludgeon/Head Butt your way to victory. Use Antidotes or Poisona to cure Venom as needed. You should have no problems soloing the spell here.

Many Blue Mages learn the spell in party while getting exp in Valkurm Dunes.

The Meriphataud Mountains Flys can be soloed at the same level as the Camp #1 Flys, but they are more difficult to reach due to aggro.

There are many higher level Flys all around the planet, most are fairly strong, and you'll need a party to get the kill. Those are not recommended.

Special notes about the spell a Blue Mage may like to know
Can I solo it? Yes. with some care it is easy in Camp #1.
Do I need any special items? Antidotes for poison, and sneak items to get to camp.
Do Flys like to use the move? With only Two TP moves in the best camp, you will see it often.
Like many Magical Blue Magic Spells, it is sadly not as good as when the Flys use it.
Cursed Sphere can be paired with any of the following spells to create the Magic Attack Bonus Trait: Sound Blast, Eyes On Me, Memento Mori, Heat Breath, Magic Hammer, or Reactor Cool
